I've been wanting to get one of those little prybars like CountyComm sells, but between the shipping costs and just being forgetful I never got one. Today I was scrounging in the toolbox and found a small Vaughn prybar about 7" long and 1/2" wide. I never used the thing and IIRC paid about 4.00 for it awhile back. Anyway, I got a wild hair and cut it to 3 11/16", rounded the butt end, drilled a hole in same, sanded, polished, and used a little cold bluing solution on it. The finished prybar is 3 5/8" (a little shorter than the wife's Honda key). It is US made and weighs 0.6 oz. If I can figure out how to do it, I'll post a picture someday. Overall, I'm pleased with it.

That and staples are about it. It was fun to make-now I'll see if it gets any use.

Yeah man and I would carry it just to take some of the load off my knife so I wouldn't have to use it to pry

I used a hacksaw to cut it. It took a while, but it is thin. I did mess up a cheap bit or two drilling it.

That is really cool. Nice work. I find myself needing to pry stuff almost as often as I need to cut stuff.

I have a Gerber Artifact on my keychain, I actually use it alot. Plus even though it's made by Gerber, it's not half bad and I think I paid about $8.00 for it.

Yours is cooler though cause you made it. I like that you said it's American made.

I thought about getting a Gerber Shard, but I didn't need (OK-want) anything but a prybar.

How do you like that Artifact? I ordered one from a guy, but they were out od stock so I had them send me something else. Concept seems solid, IMO.
