Homemade Stone Washing Questions

Im about to try my first shot at homemade stone washing a Kershaw Oso Sweet and have few questions:
1. Can I do blade and pocket clip at same time(as in same jug)
2. Im using river rock is it better to use small, med, or large rocks?
3. Im sure I need to clean blade and clip off but should I use like rubbing alcohol?
Any other advice would be welcomed thanks ( if this is wrong forum sorry)
 
I just used gravel I got from the alley behind the house. Gonna be dusty when you're done, I just rinsed with hot water, dried thoroughly, and lubed. Blade and pocket clip at the same time is fine, just be aware that you'll have to give it a good sharpening when it's done, as the edge will be beat to crap (from the rocks, not the pocket clip). Also be sure to put clear finger nail polish over the pivot area and detent track, otherwise opening the knife when you're through will be about as smooth as asphalt.

Wow I didn't know about nail polish in those areas u just saved me lol thanks........I want and got round river rock from river by my house, just wasn't sure on size and if it mattered about look ill get
 
Do u just use nail remover after im done to get it off? and if I don't have the polish would tape or something work as well?
 
I stonewashed a Spyderco Ambitious blade, liners, and clip in a rock tumbler for about 3 hours. Didn't put anything on the pivot area or detent and it came out just fine. Smooth as it was originally. Maybe I got lucky.
 
Now im not sure what to do lol if i put nail polish on it will it come of with nailremover when im done? or should i just not use anything?
