I went to Michaels (craft store) and bought a pre-packaged bag of leather remnants, this wooden cutting board paddle thing, and some 3m spray adhesive. Just glue the leather on there and load it with CrO.

Get some leather and glue it to something flat and hard. I used leather from Handamerica, hunks of wood I had laying around, & contact cement. For big knives it's nice if you make it long enough. Read posts here - there are a lot of good posts about strops and abrasives to use with them.

Thanks guys. I have found alot of VERY useful information and Ideas. Now... Where to find Stroping Compound?

I did try HandAmerican made - too thick and soft. Also do not glue it, but rather screw, so leather will be free to stretch under pressure and not roll out edge. Also if you add too much glue it will go through the leather. I try this quite a bit until came to what works.

You also can have MDF or gust paper loaded with green rouge on glass.

Thanks, Vassili.
