I decided I needed a real bench strop for my Massive Horton Choppas.
After trying a few compounds I found that Diamond spray works the best for my application. I bought some cowhide and horsehide at the local leather shop and some 2X4s at the local building supply center. I cut the 2X4s to 14 inches and then traced the leather with the piece of wood. Using rubber cement I glued the leather and horsehide down and weighted them down overnight during the drying process.
I use 21 carot 1 micron spray on the cowhide one and .5 micron on the horsehide.
These things are just the ticket I have needed for some time now. They bring my Horton Choppas, and, well, all my Hortons up to hair splitting spec in no time.
