Hello out there i just want to know what u think and if there are any others out there who are trying their hand at this? and any ideas u can

This one i made from a m20 titanium nut(gr5)

this is my first post here and Eng are my2d language so if something looks strange, forgive me will ya.

Ye but saying "just" doesn't really do the work justice i don't have the right tools to do it easy. I used a ordinary power drill and a semi bad drill as a rotating file to remove the thread and a few more mm. And then a lot of grinding, i am happy with the result thou.

And sorry no pictures of the process this time maybe when i try making the next one.

Ideas for a easier cheap way to remove the thread are welcome (my workshop are of the lots of junk, few power tool kind)

i am extremely impressed. great work, especially considering the rudimentary tools. this is really outstanding and what craftsmanship is all about. very ingenuitive.

out of curiosity, do you have a link for the ti nut source in china?

Easier to just grind out the threads until you get the right finger size, and leave the outside as it is.

Get two, hold up your hands, and say: "Look at my nuts! Look!"

Also, as, um, "impact augmenters", the tips of regular hexagonal nuts work just fine.

Make 8 rings, 2xpermanent brass (titanium) knuckles :D

I hope u can find a good seller there too, let me know how it goes will ya.

I tried something similar on the first ring i made and it looks cool but it pinches the hell out of the skin on the finger when u try closing a fist with it. maybe for those with longer fingers it might work but for me nope. but ye i agree with u on the other ...parts
i will add a pic later

Very nice work, I was a machinist for 16 years and have worked with titanium and its a tough alloy to work with and I had mills and lathes to work it. Just be careful titanium dust a shavings are very flammable so if your doing this in your garage clean up good after your done and don't smoke where you do this at.

Careful with titanium i do EMS work and when u get a smashed hand we have a ring cutter but they dont work on titanium, which means u usually lose the finger (happens more than you think), is it cool? yes, good idea? not if you work with heavy stuff.

Titanium is no harder to cut than other metals.

You might be thinking of tungsten carbide rings -- they are hard to cut but easy to break with a pair of Vice-Grips.
