Put this together this weekend. Works good. Just have to get the right media.

Cooler is a good idea. I usually just wrap a big container in towels and tie em on, then shove it all in the dryer with a small load of clothes to help cushion and such.

dumb question... what are you tumbling in there? blade steel... and if so, what are you using for a medium, and what results? i've been sandblasting, but i'd like to find another type of finish.

thanks for posting that. I will have to make something like that,
I found some course ceramic media at Harbor freight 3/8" size. With vinagar is good for getting most of the scail off the stainless I forge.
Just need a bigger tumbler for some items.

Wouldn't the thin plastic inside and outside of the cooler deteriorate very quickly? Perhaps 6" PVC with an end cap on one end and screw on lid(cleanout) on the other. The 1/4" PVC would last longer and could be replaced cheaply.

I originally planned on using PVC. It cost a little more and I had the cooler already. The cooler seals good and is cheap to replace.

Do the rubber wheels drive and turn the cooler - no shaft thru the cooler? Great idea!!!

may be slightly overkill
