I know you don't know me but I think you can help me. I finally got my web site (made thru Homestead)listed on Yahoo and Google (did a search for hv knives) but now instead of my page description it says the javascript is disabled or may not appear properly. Do you know how I can fix this? Thanks for you help in advance.
 
Thanks for the info,what was wrong was I had no written information on my index page so the web crawler had no description to read. Just for anybody elses knowledge if you are trying to get listed I found the quickest way (after months of submitting) is to link to a major hit web site. www.harborfreight.com will link to you if you display a banner of them. I did it and was listed with Google and Yahoo about 3 weeks later. It worked great,the web crawlers do all the work.
 
Glad Ripper replied here as I couldn't have helped out with this question....How do you submit to these other sites you were talking about ?

As I understand it, the search engines send out what are called "web crawlers" and what they do is search every web address that is currently listed with them. They will also search every link that is attached with that particular site. So if you link with a web site that receives a lot of hits (such as Harbor Freight,who is listed with every major search engine) when the web crawler searches "harbor Freight" it will naturally link to your site that has Harbor Freight linked to it. This will automatically get your site listed very quickly. Its amazing how fast you learn computers to make knives.
