I've learned during 8 years of marriage to change the topic quickly when that type of question comes up..... so.....

Nice Intrepid Gooser. How do you like it compared to your fixed Buck Strider?

Dave...that was great! LOL. Touche' Turtle!!!
Been kine like a Mathlete and Chess Club bus ride on the way to Spring Break around here lately.
No bickering, double dawg dare ya's, or taking lunch money going on.
This whirled peas crap has gotta stop ;)

ANYWAY...Messy....great question. The only FB BS I have is that 890TX and it is an ox of a knife. Not something that I, personally, would be comfortable wearing day in and day out unless I was peddling bibles to the natives in the Amazon. Heavy and big.

This 187 Intrepid is a very nice knife. I don't have a 119 out to compare it to right now. But laying it next to my 105...It just may replace the 105 as my favorite all around fixed blade. Really about the same size as the 105...but on steroids.
I will post comparison pics later.

Will write more later on what I like and don't like after I use it some more.
But, right outta the chute, I will tell ya a few things that I don't care for...

a> Serrations. Wish they put 'em on the spine if they're gonna be there at all.

b> Squared hilt end. That puppy was digging into my luv handles using the stock sheath. I guess if I was gonna pound on someone or crack open coconuts like Tom Hanks in "Castaway" that would be ok...but I don't see myself doing either. A more beveled/rounded end on that full tang design would've been better, for me. (same goes for the new Kalinga 408 knives too).

One of the reasons I put it in the Spec-Ops sheath is because it hangs lower on the belt and the split loop design of the Spec-Ops sheath keeps the knife from falling off the belt when you are sitting in the bathroom after a healthy mexican meal.

BTW, The horizontal sheath in the pic carries a 419 Kalinga folder. A BBF (Buck Brother Forever) is sending me a Alpha sheath for horizontal carry of this folder as I mentioned the Alpha sheath that my Kalinga fits in has a funky snap. So, this monster sheath in the pic will do for now.

Oh, here is Christmas greeting from Mrs. Goose and me for ya al' that have high speed internet (don't even try it on dial-up):

As I used to reply to my ex wife, "No, your butt makes the sheaths look fat!" Never could figure out why she filed for the divorce. ;)

Well...I was going to bust on you 'Goose, but since you've changed that avatar picture.... we'll just let lying dogs sleep ;)

Hey Dave, you look kinda stylish in a dress.....

aye me friend , two things need sturdy powerfull hindquarters, here in texas both are refered to as filly's..
the unoffical story of the Kilt....
a brit wandered to scot land or ireland and said "look at all the men in funny dresses" and they kilt him... thus that is how the Kilt got its name ....
unless ya wares one ya dont dont ask if ya has a blue ribbon either..
yes cute car! belonged to my daughter..her favorit color is
speed...or go fast...

humm i dont know...
i tought her to drive in a corvette
and her first car was a Hurst Ollsmoble 442 HO...with t-tops...
nice boy getter..
at 15 on her learners permit i had her drive through down town fort worth then back around on the interstate.. at 16 through down town dallas..
she would love your autobahn...she and her husban have a MR2 upgraded bosted turbo - 2000 lb car with 300+ hp at the crank..
they both have honda cycles that top speed on them is at 150 and 140 MPH ...
at my age now i jest enjoy the view and remind her that i have had two heart attacks...

She has her own head, like her Dad?

The Olds, what year of construction?

The German Autobahn - that's on of the best we have. A BMW form a friend V8, appx 400 HP, from Jena to Berlin distance 165 Miles done in 1,5 Hours. That was a fun. And I didn't drove faster than 140 MPH.

But I agree with you, Dave, my car would be a Vette too.

Best,
Haebbie

For the topic I left my knife at home, in that narrow seat of the BMW you get pressure marks from the knife at your butt (is that correct worded?).

hugh.... i belive ity was a 1984?
spun the tires real easly... she was truly afarde i would take her car if i cought a boy driving it or if she got too many tickets... i had the gear the spedo change to show she was going faster then she was by 7 mph... worked like a charm ...she got real mad when i told her years later.......she reacently got speed checked at 110 jest out side of dallas and smiled and talked her way out of ticket...

Dave,
I hope you realize that you've ruined my day. :o I have this picture of you in a skirt that I can't get out of my head. I think I'm going to go home sick for the rest of the day until I can get a new picture to replace you in me head.
:barf:
