Honey Packs

Looks like a good idea for quick energy and handling the stress associated with survival situations.

They look tasty, but I bet you'd get similar results from the ones you get free at KFC. Plus, you can pack wounds with pure honey. Great for quick healing.

Free packets of honey at the Colonels place? I might have to pay him a visit or two. :D

I've seen some stores with transparent straws filled with honey and thermaly sealed on the ends. They're tempting for wilderness use, but don't do it! They leak if subjected to even a bit of abuse. What a mess...good thing I had 'em in a ziplock.

From what I have gathered from some local health food junkies (seems a bit oxymoronic, doesn't it?) they say that honey loses nearly all of its healing abilities if it is cooked. It is better, they say, uncooked, untreated and with the particulate matter left in.

We only keep raw and unfiltered honey around the house and my understanding is that the darker the color, the more beneficial the honey is to us.
