That's the phone message I recieved this morning. I took the kids to visit the grandparents over the weekend. This morning when my wife called she informed me that "The sword you ordered arrived...". At first I couldn't figure out what she was talking about, until I realized that my 16.5" WWII by Bura had arrived. I was very surprised, 2 days from order to arrival. I was excited to get home and check out my first Khukri. I realize how she mistook it for a sword, quite a beast. A true thing of beauty.

A few practice chops shows that it chews through wood like a beaver on steriods. :D

I predict a long and happy relationship with this knife.

My first khuk arrived last Monday WWII 16.5". My Wife said it looked like something you cut peoples heads off with, then she got a scared look. She likes how the backyard is trimmed up though.:thumbup:

Congrats on the new sword,...knife..thing.:D

MY RESPONSE: LOL.....that's really funny (the heads comment). That's the same thing my family said when I got my first khukri.
 
Of course now my wife is sure that I'm completely insane. I got the usual, "why in the world do you need something like that", to which I use my usual although not award winning response "Ah, because it's cool."

I bet if it had a Loius Vuitton emblem on it she would be much more impressed. :o

I swear that pictures don't do these things justice, mine is ~3/8 inch along the spine, and doesn't hit 1/4" until almost the very tip. Mmmmmm...Beefy.

I post some pics when I get a chance.

I got a friend in trouble a few years ago, when I sent him a nice 18" sirupati. His wife opened the box while he was at work, and was upset that he had ordered the "big, beautiful knife"! She got over it...and had twins about two weeks ago, actually...

i'm so old i have a ww1 ;)

ww2 by bura would be a nice addition tho. my 2nd wife would not have asked what do you need one of those for, she would have asked why i didn't buy her one. (she got the ss m19 s&w as part of the divorce settlement, i got to keep the .45 colt auto)

Is she panic?

I have a Shop 1 18" WW II and I just love it. Anybody have 18" and 16 1/2 can make a comparison about which one is better!
