I saw thease on ebay today, and was wondering if they are the same thing as the old shrade and gerber honing steels?

They're similar. Are they sought after by "bushcrafters"? Is so, why? Seems you'd be better served by a set of DMT diafolds.

Well I decided to bite the bullet, so I ordered a set. Ill make sure and report back as to how they work.
