The Guild is looking for new members. Any collector/user can apply for membership.

The dues are $10 a year and should you wish to recive a Guild Badge (with your name on it) I believe the price is $12.00.

Why become an Honorary member?

1) You get into the Guild Show an hour early.

2) Each year the Guild selects 4 makers to make the knives that will be featured in the advertising for the next year's show. At the end of the show, only Honorary members can win these knives in a drawing.

3) Wearing you badge at a show will get the attention of the person behind the table. This is not to say that you will get a discount. However, it will help you get the respect you deserve as a custom knife buyer.

The Guild Show will be in New Orleans next year. In 2001 the show will move to Orlando.

If you wish to join this organization, you can either contact a voting member and have them submit your name. Or you can contact me offline and I will submit the names through one of several makers I know.

Id love to send a huge block of names from the Blade Forum.

No, I get nothing for this. Other than helping you to further the hobby that is custom knives.

My email is rccedge@csranet.com

I thought I was wrong once, but I was mistaken.

Come on now, I've only gotten two responses.

Let's here from the rest of you.

No, your not going to be put on some mailing list (I don't even mail anything any more).

Les

You guys probably spend more than ten dollars a month on knife magazines (I know I do). Hop aboard.

When I jumped on yesterday afternoon the number was up to 8 - there are a lot more of you out there. I know most of the benefits are intangible & most of us can't make it to the Guild Show, but if we join up in numbers it will send a message to the makers of who their customer base is. Les was telling me yeserday that the Guild has not promoted or made use of the Honorary memberships & there are many ways in which collectors/knife knuts/professional users(job related) such as myself could contribute to promoting the knife industry, information dissemination public relations etc.. Also by wearing a membership badge to any show it identifies you to the makers as somebody who is seriously interested in knives & the profession. If Les could take a large number of names to the Guild leadership it might open a few eyes and prove beneficial to the makers & us.

My thoughts - please sign up!

Thanks Les for getting my new Carson out yesterday - I can't wait till I get home & open up the package - I'm looking forward to using my new "TOMATO CUTTER"! HA! HA!

Count me in, sounds like a good deal.

The value of getting in the Guild Show an hour early is worth the price (i learned this year that many of the best buys are gone before the gates open).

Les,
I met Bill King at the gun show in Tampa today. He had a portion of one of Dan Piergallini's tables. He gave me a card to be sponsored. I will send you an e-mail saying same.

Both are great guys and very friendly.
