Hey all.

When I was on my way back from Peterhead the other day trying to track down jb4570's scumbag ebay frraudster I found out my beloved grandmother had died.

I am thinking about getting something to remember her by...she knew my love of knives and I am thinking about getting a knife done to remember her by.

Does this seem a good idea or a bit weird..

It's done quite often on knife forums, when a popular member dies...the blade is etched with the username, and DOB-DOD...or the bolsters is etched/engraved...usually a knife the member was fond of...talkblade.info has had several members die in the last couple years; the commemorative knives were quite stunning (I have two)... :)

Sorry to hear of your loss Maverick. I think getting a knife in her honor would be a great way to remember her, although non-knife nuts may not understand it.

Maverick...
Your thought of the commerative knife is something I have seen so I am thinking it is not "wierd".
Sad to hear of your grandmother.
Respectfully,
Goose.

Mav...
i dont think a commerative knife to rember some one is odd.

i am sad to hear of your grandmother as i also miss mine still
respectfully yours dave

Hi Mav,

I like the idea of a memorial knife to remember your Nan. It's something that can be passed down to your children in the future. Sorry for your loss mate, remember the good times and God Bless you and your family.

I'M SORRY FOR YOUR LOSS MATE. I THINK IT'S A FINE IDEA. A PERSONAL CHOICE. WHAT OTHER PEOPLE THINK DOESN'T MATTER. IT'S BETWEEN YOU AND HER.

I’m sorry to hear of your loss Mav. I kind of lean with Buck 110 here. I think that if a knife is something you will cherish and keep near you it is a good choice but I think what ever you choose should say something about her. There needs to be a sentiment that goes beyond a name and a set of dates. Is there a passage that she was fond of or that will make you think of her, something that will pull a heart string even after all who new her have moved on themselves. Mav., you are the closest thing to a poet we have around here so I think what ever you decide will probably do her a great honour.
Respect and sympathy

Sorry to hear of your loss Mav. My thoughts and prayers are with your family.
Personally, I think everyone greives in their own way, and the same goes for how we might "remember" someone. For me, when my grandparents passed, I wanted something from their house that I always remembered seeing when I went to visit. My sister and I visited them often and they had this clock that chimed every hour. My sis got that clock and it really brings back the fun memories when I visit her and see it hanging on the wall.
Just my 2 cents.
