I "know" a hook knife is usually used for carving spoons and bowls.

Question:
If you slice an apple in half, can a hook knife be successfully used to remove the core haves?

I don’t see why not but I’m not keen to pull mine out and try, that thing is exquisitely sharp and I don’t relish trying some fancy carving on an apple. I have visions of it cutting through the apple and taking off a finger.
