Hook on SAK?

In Europe, where they still tie a lot of packages with string, the hook is a package carrier - hook it through the string. Otherwise, it can be useful as a pot lifter if the pot has a wire handle, or a wire puller, lifter, etc.

Boot lace tightener.

Also good for gaining leverage when you need to tighten something ie. pulling a tarp tight enough over our campsite when it was raining.

Hook's a little small for a lot of those 'pulling' tasks but it still comes in handy for those odd jobs.

stick the knife blade into soft wood, extend the hook, and now you can make your own rope...

I know this thread is old, but thanks, great tips. I keep looking for a use for the hook in my SAK, I like y'alls suggestions.

Actually, if you go to SOSAK.com you'll find a bit more info on the hook, and more uses.

Thanks! SAK's are invaluable. In terms of actual use, my SAK's are probably #1 knife. But what's up with that hook?
