Does anyone know a good place to buy a decent set of hook swords? My googlefu is failing me :(. Any help would be appreciated

Martial Arts Mart has a pair with case and a DVD. Forum rules prohibit listing the price. I'd figure they'd be fine for kata, etc.

I have picked up a couple of things from Martial Arts Mart and have been happy with the quality and customer service. For example, the hard whip is just a milled 5 pound steel bar, but it was nicely chromed and the carrying case was surprisingly well-made for being "added in." I would pick up another, but the price went waaaay up since the Dark Ages when I bought it. Ignore this next part if you are familiar with chinese MA weapons, especially when they come from China: wu shu (or wu su, or any of the myriad spellings) or modern in the title means that it is optimized for flashiness and minimal weight. They are structurally unsound for actually hitting things more than once, but if you just want to take them out for a spin they are cheaper and easier to use. Combat steel weapons are usually capable of supporting their own weight without getting a banana bend, but don't expect to be able to actually put a cutting edge on them--they are dedicated blunts usually. That's actually a plus with a pair of hooks though, unless you own a complete kevlar suit and stock in the Band-Aid corporation. Never been ripped off by the Martial Arts Mart, and that is far more than I can say about other sites where I have done business.

Excellent points by Biting Sarcasm, the ones I directed you to aren't going to be combat ready, so if that's what you're wanting I have no idea where to look. I'm not even certain anyone makes combat ready hook swords, but if they DO, I'd bet they're going to be a costly proposition-meaning at least $2-$300, which may be chickenfeed to some, but in my book, that's "costly". My definition of costly is:

"If you could make a monthly car payment on a mid-line sedan of the current year, that is "costly".
Some folks may own a sword you could trade for a 2011 Jeep with low mileage, i am NOT that guy, although I wish to heck I was.

Looks like Wing Lam Enterprises makes some nice high carbon ones for a little over $200.
