Hookaroon/hawkaroon/pickaroon, + Blade?

Hello all,

Relatively new to this world; would appreciate some advice.

I like the idea of the hookaroon for picking up pieces of firewood and love the idea of a tomahawk/axe/hatchet blade on the other side. I like the Cold Steel Spike Hawk but every one I've encountered is a "kit" requiring fixing the head to the haft. The CRKT offering looks nice but twice the price and still Taiwanese.

I like the hookaroon Wranglerstar uses from a blacksmith in Australia but $150 is a touch out of my price range.

Any recommendations for a combo pick/spike-hatchet?

Kit? You mean tap the handle in place......

I wish all mine came that way. Then I could take a few minutes to make a better handle to head fit before the set screw.

I have the spike hawk. It is a nice pointy spike. Much more so than the CRKT. I've handles a few of theirs, but never purchased. Mostly because my bases were covered already by CS.

I did not buy one, mostly because my bases were covered already by CS.

I have my spike hawk on a 34 inch handle? What ever the war hammer comes on.

Check out the Peavey Katahdin Pickeroon w/Brush Cutter. They can be ordered with any size handle from 15" to 72".
