Trust Canada to make a law that makes sense. :D

The law requires that you carry a knife or axe, waterproof matches (or matches in a waterproof container) and a compass when travelling in unfamiliar terrain.

Take that, everyone who says "you don't need a knife when hiking or camping." :p

Canada, Canada, Canada!!! ;)

(Now I just need some waterproof matches...already carry a compass)

Still can't carry autos, or balisongs in Toronto, though. Hey, wonder what I can get away with if I go city hiking up to Richmond Hill? :D

I love 'unfamiliar terrain' that could mean many places depending on your point of view!!

If I am heading to Halifax but I live in PEI would Halifax be considered unfamiliar terrain and thus require matches, axe, knife etc.

SnG and Spyderco Tuff were my last 2 Toronto knives. :)

As Obi-Wan said, it all depends on your point of view. ;)

No use taking a chance man . I say carry all of it all the time :D

Never know when you might get lost!

"I've never been to this mall before…"

Works for me. :D

I now have hope for Canada!

Me too.

If I were the cop, I'd say yes.

And Happy New Year to one and all!!!
