hey guys. i'm still agonizing over a hunting bone saw :( . i was just poking around the internet and ran into a pretty nice looking saw called "hooyman". i like the fact that it's a folder and one can replace the blade.

does anyone have any experience with this saw?
does the blade have a pretty good thickness? i didn't want something that was going to be flimsy.
does the blade lock in pretty solid?
would this knife be good for cutting through the brisket of a deer?

any thoughts on that saw would be appreciated. thank you in advance...jeff

Hi Jeff, I bought a Hooyman Saw. It is a great tree saw, but it sounds like you are looking for a bone saw, or something to cut a brisket with. If you are looking for a bone saw you want a really thin fine blade with very small teeth. The Hooyman saw is a tree saw which has larger aggressive teeth that are designed for tree limbs not bone or brisket. If you are looking for a great tree saw I really reccommend Hooyman, I love mine. Otherwise a good butchers hack saw will work well for a bone saw.

Get a Silky saw with fine tooth blade. It works just fine for bones (you can also get the large tooth blade for wood).

thank you bill and dawsonbob for the responses! i'll check out the silky and the butchers' hack saw!
