I had been eyeballing a used Umnum on the for sale thread for about a week now. I was almost ready to cave in and tell the person selling it I would take it when the urge to just look at a new one struck me. I went to one of my usual internet sites ready to pull the trigger when a Ironwood Mnandi just spoke to me. I have a few "Sundaygotomeeting" knives, but there was just something about it that screamed "BUY ME YOU MORON! DO IT NOW!" So I did. I have 3 Sebenzas but none of them a dress knives. I lean more toward the "hard use" folders usually. Maybe I am slowing down some. Mnandi users feel free to chime in. I guess the Umnum will have to wait awhile.

Well don't fool yourself. The Mnandi is a hard use knife in sheeps clothes. It will whack down vines with the best of them. Its a real fine knife and deceptively stout. Good choice without a doubt!

That's awesome!
I felt the same way with my 2nd Mnandi purchased within a 2 week period of the first. When I saw the Box Elder Burl with both of best worlds [one side Light and Burly with the back Rich with Reds] I had to have it although I had just purchased one previously.

Just as Scott Dog said, the Mnandi is actually quite Stout. Cut's through cardboard just as well as my Sebenzas. Although I do like to baby them a bit more...well just because they look so darn nice!

Would love to see pictures once you get it!

The mnandi is beautiful, you will enjoy it and therefore the choice is a good one. A lighter knife than a large seb or omnum, but strong and a perfedt dress knife

Well the mnandi arrived today. Beautiful little knife. It's a little smallish for my hands and it will take a little getting used to. I need not comment on fit and finish because its a Reeve. No other words needed. I think it will be the perfect knife for gentleman carry, or tucked in the pocket for use in situations where a larger knife might bring alarm. I will try to post pictures in a day or so of the whole family.

pictures would be nice, I'll check this thread later
congrats on the mnandi, good that you like it. enjoy using it!

I love both my Mnandi and Umnumzaan. Umnumzaan is SO smooth, but the Mnandi ends up getting carried more since I work in an office. Its a GREAT knife. Congratulations.

The Mnandi is a unparalleled masterpiece. It combines toughness with beauty and elegance, not to mention unsurpassed f&f and ease of maintenence. Good call.

The Mnandi is a very nice little folder, and ironwood is one of the nicest handle options. You made the right choice.

And now post some pics!

Kind regards,

Jos

I promise to get some pics posted. Just started back to school today and things are a little crazy. When you havent been in school for 23 years and then go back, its a little mind blowing! I will get pics posted of the Mnandi and its Sebenza brothers though.

The Mnandi is one of my favorite CRK. Its tougher beyond imagining for its size. Holds an awsome edge. Since its blade is nice and thin, it makes an excellent slicer. I have used my damascus mnandi for things more suited for the heavy duty umnumzaan and there is not even a mark on it. I wish they would do some special limited runs with it because it is certainly deserving of it. An all damascus frame, damascus inserts, micarts inserts, you name it............Long Live The Mnandi !!!

Here are some pictures as promised. My photos will not be winning any awards, but at least you folks will get the idea. I have a Micarta Sebenza on thw way that I traded for, but it may have to go to Boise for a little tlc before I add it to the photo album. Thanks for looking!

I had a little company while I was taking the photos. He is my constant shadow. Or maybe just admiring the blades.....
