The SAR4 seems like such a good general utility knife and the perfect gateway Busse for many coming into the community I hope this Company Store offering continues to come out in more flavors and continues a good long run. It's a bad time for me to be spending but I would like to grab one at some point.

What do yawl think?
 
I think that sounds like a good idea, I may pick one up if they come out in Canvas Micarta (any color will do...) or Green Linen. I just wish they didn't have those thumb notches, but I'm willing to give one a shot regardless.:D

I hope it is a long run, I would like to see one double cut wearing OJ slabs.... wishful thinking I am sure.
 
It's basically the same knife as the BATAC in my view. I still think the SAR5 is the better designed knife due to the useable blade length and overall length. The SAR4 is all handle. Still, I do like the looks of it, just too much handle for me.

Heck, anorexic with black canvas micarta would suffice, also. Or black G10, or pumpkin, or.......

Interesting. One of the best features of the SAR4 to me (and of most of the Busse models) is the adequate handle.

+1, I agree.

Nothing worse than a knife with a handle that does not allow for controlled grip.

Just wanted to add that this is the same reason I like the Batac so much. Someone mentioned that the SAR 4 and Batac are similar, I think that is right, I also reckon that the Batac is under rated as a knife.

I like the big handles also, but i do wish they would make the medium blade a little thinner. Fatty's are great for chopping but not to handy for woods chores. I use the hell out of my smaller thin blades, the BAD and my SMOG WARDEN, just wish there was a thinner medium sized one, Maybe someday. G.M
 
Well... if we all liked the same things it would be a pretty boring world I guess. ;)

One thing I'm liking is the new thumb groove things... very cool. :thumbup: Also, I'm glad that Jerry is warming to the convex edge. I feel it is superior, and it saves me the time of having to convex them myself. :thumbup::D
 
I too hope that they go on to maybe some Micarta thats basic and a bit cheaper. I would like to get my hands on another one.
 
I like convexed edges, but I want one with micarta scales and a standard v edge purely for the fact that it would be around $250 and in the rhealm of me being able to afford it. I want one bad, but the economy has killed my Busse buying like no other.

+1 on thinking that the BATAC is underrated. It's one of my favorite Busse's in the 4-5" blade range, although the SAR4 will most likely give it a run for the money. :thumbup:
