Some of you know that I have chopped my Bone Collector fixed blade by Benchmade. For those who don't, I've done so for legal reasons.
Next step was the sheath. The sheath it came with was crap, and even after fixing the main issues, it just wasn't solid enough.
I have made a main core out of Bondo resin soaked canvas. The thing has a pretty good retention, the knife doesn't rattle or shake.
I've tried a few options of mounting it and stopped at my Swiss Army cellphone case. I filed and sanded the core so that it fits in the back of the case, and attached a snap for better retention. I use the main compartment to carry a flashlight and a lighter, and I have a piece of paracord attached to the resin core.
I use this setup as EDC, and it's proven useful so far. The belt clip is very convenient as it allows me to attach the sheath to various articles.
To avoid confusion, yes, the retention snap faces the belt, so it's not a fast draw knife, but then again, I didn't mean for it to be one.
