I have seen them from various suppliers at Ebay and Amazon but thought if I could go direct to benefit the local Nepalize people and get a quality set made in Nepal ! So many are made in India or China and portrayed as the Nepal bowls and not the case.

I'd send an email to Yangdu. I have no idea if she can make it happen but it wouldn't surprise me in the least if she could get you a set.

I sent an email to Yangdu just now inquiring about the singing bowls and offered the suggestion to start a new thread rather than adding knives to an existing thread.
I'll keep you posted.

Most I thought were Tibetan. Theres good ones and theres lots of fakes or low quality ones too so be careful. The process they make them is pretty fascinating in itself. Theres like seven layers of different metals and all tuned to make just the right sound. Id love to have a big one for my dome house. Good luck finding a good one. They aint cheap!

They vary of course but some typical classic examples have tested to be of an eight metal alloy of copper and tin with traces of iron, lead, zinc, gold, silver and mercury. Lovely and expensive and you would not want to purchase without first hearing. Can't imagine HI could be a source of anything other than contemporary bowls. Yangdu would need to learn an entirely new and different product and being who she is - could not sell unless she could authenticate quality. That is one very tall order.

BUT - I will be intrigued to see if this query develops into anything.
