I've been having a great couple of weeks for knives, but today after work I found this at my local pawn shop and I'm hoping it's my best score yet.

What I love about knife collecting is there's still deals out there to be found. I managed to pick this up for the cost of a gas station knife. Who ever had it used it and it's quite dull.

Go to Dozier's website and you should be able to find the model.

I found a Bear & Sons Bowie, Damascus, stag grips, leather sheath. $50 at the local gun shop. The owner needed $50 and "pawned" it for a loan, then never returned to re-claim it. The shop owner listed it for $50 because that's what he had into the deal, and locally the market is for working knives -- hunter, skinner, camp knives. This Bowie is way to large to be of practical use, but a hell of a deal for me, the accumulator.

Evidently the folks that run the pawn shop doesn't know much about knives. Never, and I mean never tell anyone that works there about this thing called the Internet, much less that they could check to see just how much some knives go for.;)
Dozier is among the best when it comes to D2. That's got to be the deal of the year.:p

Thanks guys! Until tonight I never heard of the brand so I wasn't sure. I just recognized the quality and I got it so cheap I was a little concerned.

It's not a "brand", Dozier is just one guy. Bob Dozier. That is a custom, hand made knife, made by one guy, who just happens to be a wizard with D2. I'm convinced his D2 is the absolute best version of that steel you can get.

I'm very jealous! I'd take that deal all day long every day. Sharpen that sucker up and use it. And go buy a lottery ticket.

It isn't a brand per se. Bob Dozier or Dan Crotts made that knife. Bob Dozier probably does the best D-2 in the business. I liken it to Bark River's A-2 in the sense that Bark River seems pretty adept using this steel for their more basic line of steel.

I have something like six Dozier fixed blades. Yeah. I like them.
