Hoping to find some info on 2 Swords

I came across these at an estate sale mostly out of curiosity. After spending a good amount of time trying to come up with information a friend suggested asking here. The larger sword actually has a good edge. I am hoping someone recognizes these. I don't think these are some hidden treasure just curious about them

They are wall hangers, whatever you do with them, don't try hitting anything. The edge may feel good, but the steel on those will most likely bend, break, or shatter with various amounts of collateral damage or injury. The top is a fantasy blade, the mark on it doesn't ring a bell, but a lot of companies were pumping them out since the 90s. The bottom looks to be a lion-head dagger in a jian style. All of the yin/yang and I-Ching imagery makes me think it was a decoration or a feng shui thing. Older jian sometimes have 7 bronze or brass inlays in the blade to represent 7 stars, but I haven't seen them in a straight line down the blade like that before. Neither sword is very old or valuable, someone else might have more to say.

I was thinking they weren't worth all that much. I guess I was curious about why they were made in the first place. So decoration it is

It may have been a foolish purchase but I am not a fool

No part of this blade says it was designed for anything other than to appeal to 12 year olds and their dads to buy it.

Maybe you won't buy another hot topic sword if you accepted that you're in fact, a fool.

He did not foolishly hit something with them and stab himself, as you say. He got them out of curiosity, and to be curious isn't to be a fool. I guess he isn't an expert on hot topic swords like you.

Agreed. You are new to the forums, so a helpful tip when reading is to look for the number of posts and the starting date of the account of the person responding to you. A generic free account that was recently created CAN have good opinions and information, but it looks like you picked up a griefer on your first hit. Most folks here aren't like that and are legitimately interested in swords to various levels of obsession. Heck, if I saw that Jian dagger for a good price I would have picked it up for my garage wall just for the hell of it.

Agree! Sorry you got responses from an unprovoked jerk. Fortunately the mod squad took care of it.
