Maybe find something nice... maybe not, but still take a peek, ya know! ;-)
If anyone is heading to this show, let me know if you want to meet up there and do our hunting together... the more, the merrier :-)

If Syracuse wasn't so far from my location , I'd take you up on the offer.

Have fun!

You can usually find a few keepers but

they are a little to fond of them in their pricing.

Ask them, "Is it priced this high because it belonged to your grandfather?"

A confident fellow to invite the competition along with him no? :p

I found some beautiful examples of Chestnut Bone CV knives at the last one I went to, but they wanted a little more than I wanted to spend. :o

Yeah, hahaha... you're likely right! But, I am willing to risk losing a good buy to a new fellow knife knut friend :-)

I've got to check and see what the better half has lined up. I'd like to go, and my kids always get a kick out of looking around.
I can let you know towards the end of the week.

I've actually found my better deals at these shows, at Gun tables with a hand full of knives, than at a more knife oriented tables with a few guns. Seems like the Gun people are not as interested in them, as the knife people are. Still you won't know if you don't go. Just my observations. Really though, Gun shows are just hit or miss. Hope you enjoy yourself.

As I continue to look around, I already have a fixed bladed Queen knife in hand. It was an impulse buy... but at 45 bucks even, I think I did okay :-) Pics will follow later :-)

Too funny - sounds like you needed to come away with something.....

I have an equal amount of fixed blades in my collection with a Queen among them - a very nice knife.

Looking forward to your pics - I'll get out of the chair and get a pic of mine to share with you later.

Stan, I know nothing about this knife... well, other than made by Queen. Any idea when they made these (maybe they still do). Any info you can share with me, will be much appreciated. This one is obviously unused... no box, but the sheath came with it. I think the knife has been stored in it's sheath, and it looks a bit like it's been handled alot and seen some placing here and there, which has kept the knife pretty pristine. The blade is obviously carrying original shine, etching, and it's original sharpened edge. Though the bolster/guard shows a smidgen of rub from where it contacted the leather, it has no dings or scratches.... so a tiny bit of flitz to that bolster/guard will just be the right touch to bring her to where I want her to be. Of course I will have to re-arrange some things in my last case to place her on display. She will be surrounded by pocket knives, which if is okay by her, is surely okay by me ;-)

I've never seen that one - will have to do as search on Rawhide series. Be right back with a pic of mine.

I'm kind of lost.......don't know where the other thread went or where I am posting this......

Here is my Queen:

I merged the two Syracuse Gun Show threads. There's a link that goes from the second one back to this one. Pretty neat eh?

I think the Rawhide series was either in the 80's or the 90's. They were a limited run, and had wood handles, and 420hC steel. I don't know all of the patterns, but the fixed blade you have, a folding hunter, a stockman or two. Sorry I can't give more info.

I did some google searching and didn't find much which kind of surprised me. A couple pics of the same knife you bought and that was about it. I searched for rawhide series as I suspect by the name there would have been a few knives in the series like buckforus says.

I did find one image of a different knife that says rawhide series - funny that it is a toothpick! Now my curiosity is up - going to look some more......
