Hoppes Oil?

I'm a little curious as to what hoppes lubricatng oil is; it is just a highly refined mineral oil or...? Seems to be a lack-of-love for it on these forums, though it has served me very well for many years.

I don't know what it is, but Hoppes oil is good stuff.

It's good stuff for guns, there's better stuff for knives
