Hoppe's Precision Lubricating Oil, 14.9ml Bottle E/F

[Buck knives I like]

I hate to start a thread just on this but I am looking for some very cheap oil, ( not mineral oil ) to lube up pocket knives to make them open up smoother etc. Is Hoppe's Precision Lubricating Oil, 14.9ml Bottle E/F an oil that will work well with knives? It only costs like five bucks, and comes in a refillable accurate drop bottle. I just want to make sure cheaper oil won't harm my knives in anyway or make the opening worse then it is.

I just need someone who has used it to give me a yes or a no. Edit: I just want to add that I want it for lubing up the blade to have it deploy easier, I'm not looking for it to protect the blade or whatever some oils do. Thanks.

My other option is also Rem Oil.

I use the hoppes oil your talking about. Picked it up for $3 at a local sporting goods store. The only reason was for the needle applicatior but the oil in it works good for oiling pivots and other folders.

Try it, if it sucks no great loss. The bottle (empty) at my local Dicks is $5 alone.

I have been using Remoil. But have seen posts recommending vaseline, white lithium, Ballistol etc. Then there are those who warn against using any lubricant at all.
