I am looking for a horizontal sheath for my Buck 110 that opens the knife as you slide the knife out. I currently have a leather one that a friend gave me 20 years ago, just don't want to ruin it if it cannot be replaced. I'm wondering if anyone has seen this type of sheath made out of either leather or kydex and where to get it. I have Googled the heck out of it looking.

In any case, there are two drawbacks to this kind of sheath. The pivot point rubs part of the the edge of the blade to open it. You cannot draw the knife while crouched or seated. Well....you can, just not easily because the blade cannot pivot properly.

Anyone?

For years I have thought that a sheath could be made with a strong magnet, which would attract the blade as the knife is drawn so that it would open as it was taken out, but never been that interested in a fast draw, or bothered to carry on with the idea.

Mike,
You can usually find these at most leather biker shops or swap meets. They are actually quite common. There is a catalog and internet company that sells a lot of inexpensive biker "stuff" called Mr. B's. You might want to do a search on their site. I think I remember seeing one there a while ago. Just don't get turned off by all of the cheap junk biker garbage that they carry for the
wanna-bees.

jayharley,

Oh man, what a place! I didn't find the sheath, but scroll to the bottom of this page to get your very own
flasher button

Thanks for the link though......it's a riot!

I've seen one of those once, scary thing really to me, blade rode on a nylon spacer so as you drew the knife the blade is unfolded on the exit, worked ok but strange. With the 110, you can easily grip the blade and lightly open by flicking the handle downward and the knife opens pretty fast that way, used to do that in the Navy to see how fast we could draw the knife, open, slice a 1/2" manila rope in two, the other guy would hold the rope between his hands in front of you and you better not miss ;)
