Horizontal Mounting for BK11 sheath

Hi!

I'm new here (also to knives) and I've only read a few threads concerning the above topic. Well, first off I've ordered a survival knife (for survival) and a half-serrated folding knife (for EDC). I'm planning to buy a back-up knife which is the BK11 Becker Necker and I want it to be mounted on my belt horizontally and vertically. I heard that you need to modify the sheath for the Tek-Lok (I don't know what size: small or large, and I'm afraid of destroying the sheath by drilling a hole where the knife goes in), and the TDI clip doesn't allow horizontal mounting (that's from what I've read). So, I need recommendations on which mounting clip to use.

@theHobbyist: Sorry, what do you mean by "the general area"?

Thanks for the suggestion. Anyone else got ideas or maybe some links in the forums? Will a MOLLE strap do good? Thanks again!

I've never used MOLLE so I couldn't say, but after re-reading your post, you shouldn't have to drill where the knife goes to use the tek lok... I'm trying to remember what my BK11 sheath looks like (not handy atm)
