Has anyone out here is Buck cyberland seen or know where to get a horizontal carry sheath for a 105?

How would you carry it? In the small of your back? have not heard of anything like that, sounds interesting though... may need to find a custom sheath maker.

The 102 is so cute, I even thought of an ankle sheath. The small of the back carry reminds me of the husband of a second cousin... then a local PD detective. He accidently nicked a toe cleaning his snub nose at home. He took out a kidney holstering it in his side holster, so he moved it to the small of his back - and then put a round in a 'cheek' - both of those incidents were at the PD's range - like I said, revolvers. I think he retired before they went to bottom-feeders - lucky for him!

Visions of sticking the 105's point through my back would prevent may carry there - visions of slicing my Achille's tendon will prevent ankle carry... guess it's back to the vertical carry on a belt for me.

PS What's the 102 good for? I like whittling with it - no worry about the 'lock' slipping. It's new to me - but so cute! The 105 is just a small hunter-type, I guess (I also have one now - just haven't used it.).

Maybe they will chime in or send you a pm.

Ya go tumblin' down the road at 65 MPH (I always obey the law and never speed) and the likelihood of a free hanging vertical sheath knife popping through the leather and into one of your leg arteries is about the same as it popping through with horzontal carry.

I was thinking of modifying my Camilus Jet Pilot knife sheath that has a metal piece at the bottom to prevent the tip from popping out. But those are some ugly sheaths.

After thinking about it a bit more, while it would be more comfortable, having a horizontal sheath with a fixed blade in Calif could get me in trouble. Any jacket, shirt, or beer belly covering it makes the knife a concealed weapon.
So, I guess I will pass...since I always obey the law.

Thanks for the replies...

This looks cool though:

I've designed and built lots of sheaths and holsters and due to the length, and narrow-ness, of the 105, I really don't think you'd like it. Biggest problem I can see is that it would only be accessable from one side and if that hand was immobilized, the knife would become UN-accessable. I'm a fan of the 100 series, and especially familiar with the 105, and have seen one carried, vertically but inverted, and attached to the shoulder straps of a backpack. I have also carried a knife in the same configuration and attached to my life jacket from back in the days when I was guiding for a white-water rafting company on the Rio Grande. I always figured that if I was to flip a raft and come up under it, a knife in that position would be the best for cutting through the bottom of the raft and allow me to get "out of the basement." Just a couple of thoughts. Jack

Goose,
I sort of thought that's why we carry folders...when we can't get to our fixed blades fast enough. Solution? Carry a 105 in a standard sheath or in your saddlebag and then also carry a nice 110 in a horizontal sheath.
Of course I know it may be hard to find room in there what with your 119 and 124 taking up all the room. :D

Different knives, but when hunting I carry my BM210 horizontal on my belt with a tech lock. For bowhunting and sitting in my stand or blind, I don't want the handle to be sticking up away from my waist.

I can wear it horizontal (front side) and completely forget I am carrying it.
It may not be traditional, but it works well.

I plan on getting the same kydex system for my 802 (102 in S30V).
I'll post pictures once I get it, but it is going to be a couple months.
