Horizontal vs. Shoulder

I wear a horizontal sheath for my personal knife at the moment, but time has come for a new EDC knife for me. My skills have progressed and I need to carry something different to show people.
My sheath making can be seen on my website via my sig. I'm no master of leather but think I do ok. My multi-piece multi-carry for my entry knife creation being a personal favorite. I already know my new edc will ride in a kydex under leather sheath.
My bread and butter is the horizontal sheath, but I want to hear from you guys about the comfort and ease of access for a shoulder rig. I'm a LEO and carry a gun and knife daily. My only options are cross-draw, horizontal, or shoulder rig. I always wear an overshirt for concealment. My new personal blade will be 9" overall with a 4.25" blade.
Thanks for your impressions of the aforementioned styles.

Eric

Forgot, here's some of my work. Just got some new tooling which should help. Skiving tool, edge slicker, some chemical products. This was done with none of those. Just a razor blade, needled and thread, xacto, and groover... Knife made by me. 1095 and sycamore.
Sorry, cellphone crap pics.
First time with copper rivets, they crawl.... Electroplated the snap myself.

It is a horozontal or vertical carry in case that isn't obvious. Fits a 1.5" belt.

Pretty cool looking sheath, but you carry that rig daily on duty? Soft clothes or your patrol area usually wooded?

I'm a LEO too.

For a knife that size my personal favorite is cross draw, vertical set up. I'm not a fan of the scout style myself, but that is simply personal preference. I still make them on occasion for customers use.

If I wore a gun on a daily basis the cross draw is also a good balance between the tools. Also, sitting in a vehicle is interesting with a scout sheath.

A shoulder rig offers a lot of possibilities, but must be fitted properly so it hangs well under the arm. Nothing prints as bad as a poorly hung shoulder rig. But when done successfully its a wonderful set up. Just very involved.

Just my preferences, your mileage may vary, and as always its what your most comfortable with

Thanks. That was my reason for considering the shoulder rig. The scout style is fine, and comfortable to a degree, but does leave something to be desired when seated. Crossdraw has worked for me before, but tends to imprint quite a bit.... Although in my part of the country people don't really seem to care much if you are carrying anything concealed... they probably are too...
