Horizontal vs. vertical throw...

Does the horizontal throw work as well as the vertical throw? I can't throw anything horizontally with any degree of accuracy. Can a knife be thrown horizontally as well as it can be thrown vertically?

Generally speaking, horizontal throwing produces much less favorable results. I can get a pretty good stick rate but accuracy to hit an 8 inch circle is faily poor.

Practice makes the difference and I think I could produce like results with the vertical overhand throw if I put the time in. But vertical is where my power and accuracy lie so horizontal as well as backward/reverse and over-the-shoulder stuff will stay in the boredom breaker and friendly bravado catagory.

I'd have to agree with Patte! But as the little <a href="http://www.crl.com/~mjr/books.html">Pananandata Guide to Knife Throwing</a>shows, practice makes perfect. If nothing else, this guy shows that you can throw it any way you can move!
