I had a Spartan Ares.
I guess they compare decently to some of CRK's fixed blades. They are in the price range of CRK and Busse's. I have never owned a CRK knife though to tell you for sure.
Busse knives have a propriety steel that is very tough stuff. Most of their knives are heavier and built more towards chopping. The Spartan blades and CRK's appear to be more of a fighter styled blade.
Rats are in a much lower price bracket, and also have a very strong following. They appear, to me, to be good outdoor use knives at a good price point.
Basically you need to figure out what you will be using this knife for. It does not appear to be a chopper, or the best choice for an ourdoor knife. It may be good for regular carry, filling a fighter role, or just for collections purposes which is great, so get it if you like it.
