Horn cracking?

Hello folks,

I own a lot of laguiole folders, in my opinion the nicest and best looking folder.
Most of them are with horn scales. I left One of them outside in the rain. Result,
Along the handle, cracks of about 2 mm in the horn. Now it feels not so good anymore in your hand, as the edges are sharp. Any way I can fix this withour replacing the scales?

I've also noticed that low quality horn is much worse in wet conditions then real good quality buffalo horn or such.

You might try filling the cracks with super glue, if the cracks are deep it will take quite a few applications.Sand lightly with240 to 400 grit paper between applications. Sand smooth when done.
