Horn handle types?

Amongst kukris I notice mainly black & green horn & occasionaly creme, Does anyone know if these are from different types of animals?
I realise black is waterbuffalo but do kamis also use goat,cow, sheep, yak? & does the colour help identify them?

The horn can have different colors within it, and pigment and diet may account for some variations in color. If you look closely even at black horn handles, you can oftentimes see the color variants.

The green horn though...never seen that. Algae eating water bufflo?

I am pretty sure the green horn comes from the new Buffalo on the block, the naive ones that don't yet know their way around the traps

Good tip about diet, makes sense, have found out Buffalo can be green or Bluish as well as grey or black.

Would still like to know what the white horn comes from, Im guessing Yak but dont know.
