Horns how to cut them

Hi
Guys been lurking for a few days perving over all the great knives . I live in Cape Town South Africa , i have a heap of horns , kudu,widebees,orynx,springbok,sable that come from our game farm . how do i cut these for best results ? any help would be appreciated .

these are all collected in the veld from dead animals .
 
Sharp blade on a bandsaw, and go very slow. Wear a respirator, as it is not good for you and stinks horribly lol.
 
I believe most of those are shells of horn around a bone core. They are usually removed from the core. At least the springbok horns I've gotten were. I believe a few days soaking in water usually does it, although it can get a bit smelly. I used to put my cow horns in my compost piles. They'd heat up and sweat off pretty quick.
 
Some horns are very thin. A base of wood can be formed and then the thin horn attached. Some horn is too curved to be used as is. I cut these as thin as possible then boil them to soften and form them to the right shape. Nice material, good luck.
