Took the boys out to Paulding Forest for some rappelling, rock climbing and general exploring. While scouting for a spot we dropped our rucks and went to explore. I found a decent spot and went for my EDC in my pocket clip sheath to mark the area. There was no knife or sheath!!!:(
I retraced w/o luck. The boys got some bouldering in while I continued the search.
Had lunch -canned tuna is hard to appreciate when ones favorite knife is MIA. On the way back I found the knife and sheath clipped to a branch waist level!!! No more clip sheath in the bush.
Finished the hike with a little rappelling!
Here's a pic of the EDC and Bravo 1 with a mustard vinegar forced patina. The finish on the Bravo looks better in person.

Maybe a kind soul found it and put it there! :)

Congrats on your find! Im glad you got your knife back!

I once lost a knife while rappelling. Found it stuck to a bush growing from the cliff face on a later trip down, though. I don't leave a knife clipped to my pocket while wearing a harness any more.

Yeah if it was on the trail I bet someone found it and put it there for you figuring you would see it on your way back. Seems impossible a bush could knock it off AND get it to clip on to it at the same time.

Glad you found it. My son dropper my Nikon binocs (realtree camo...) in the woods last year. Found em two days later in a deadfall we had to traverse.

I can feel your pain of losing a great knife, but at least you found it!

SEMPER FI brother!!!

I only have one knife... and i think i would cry if i lost my knife (the better reason to get some more right??? :D :D :D)

Glad you found it. About 10 years ago my dad lost his Buck 107 Scout (no longer made) while out turkey hunting. We were hunting in grass that was almost knee high. After a couple of days I said I'd go back and retrace our steps.

I said "Ok I think we sat about here and had decoys right about....here!" There was the knife. He had dropped it picking up decoys. I hate losing stuff!

Glad you found it....Gossman? Looks like a PSK...Or is it a JK?

Man, there is some pucker factor while searching for lost wares....

At least you found it, I know what its like. Kinda kills the mood of the day, then you find it and all's good. :D Only you find yourself checking it every couple minutes for the rest of the day. :)

I've had my Benchmade 550 do this, not once but twice. Both times it was in the briars while working, and I was very lucky to find it both times. Clip knives or sheaths are not very "woods" friendly in my opinion unless you are staying on a well cleared path.

I had the same thing happen to me with a nice benchmade knife. I cut the grass and it was gone.I searched the yard for two days, even borrowed a metal detector and could not find it. Long story short the next time I was cutting the grass as I drove my riding mower around a pine tree there it was clipped to a branch. It was pulled right out of my pocket when I was cutting the grass the previous week.

That is one of the worst feelings. I absolutely hate when I loos a knife. Even a cheap knife bums me out. But If i lost one of my nicer EDC's like a Busse, I would be so pissed.

Glad you found the sucker.
