Put this togeather for an old Plumb DB that I recently resurected.

It was good practice as well as a good place to use up some of the Horse Hide.
I got to thinking about my mentor (RayBan) telling me not to stress about die con covering the edges all that well. Turns out that edges are just a fact of life. Kinda like end grain in wood I guess. Anyway, I deceided not to dye this one at all. Just gave it a good rub-down with Neets.

And for RB's scrutiny, an edge shot.
Don't know why I can't seem to get that shot in focus, but I never claimbed to be a photographer.

I'll throw in a pic of the old axe too just for GP's.

Thanks for looking.

Well the ivy is in nice clear focus..........but I can see nice edges just the same.
Nice design too......you're coming along just fine little grasshopper.
If I wanted to be really nit-picky I would ask if you had a stitching wheel.....that thingy that marks the spacing you are to stab with the awl......it's a "must have" for hand stitching......details, details....

Really good job overall.

Yes, got one.
I kinda thought my stitching lay out was getting better. Huh???

I took a betterer pic of the edge but photobucket's giving me a hard time.
I'll try and load it later.

Got it.

Thanks RB

Just remembered that I need to thank "Pipeman" who gave me the idea for the design over on the axe forum.
Naturally, mine's not in the same league as his.
Thanks Pipeman.

Nice! You get bonus points for the barlow in the picture. I have that knife & used it for years until the scales fell off (then I used it for several more years as a slim folder until its retirement.

Thanks Zog
I actually found that knife buried under a bunch of grease rags in the trunk of a car an old girlfriend had just bought along with a BSA Enfield chambered in 303Brit.
Had it for close to thirty years now and still going strong.
And BOY does that old carbon steel blade take an edge!!!!
