Hey Beckerheads,

I'll stipple 2 sets of your factory Becker scales (takes about 1 1/2 hours per set for me) if you make me some wood scales for my BK2. Good old fashion skill for skill horse trade. I am not good at working with wood *insert joke here* but would love a set for my BK2. I'll pay shipping on the wood scales to me and I'll of course pay to send your factory ones back.

Any takers?

That's a great offer and, I think, a reasonably fair trade. I'd love to take you up on it - however, I still haven't managed to complete one set of wood scales yet. I'll keep it in mind for the future, though.

crimson,
I just want wood scales for my BK2. I've always liked the look of them. I'd take whatever you could make. I use the poop out of this knife so I'd prefer it was a wood that was decently tough but honestly I'd take whatever and be appreciative.

Okay, it might be a few weeks til I have time to get in the shop, but I'll let you know when I'm ready. Pennsylvania?

Awesome. Just let me know brother. Yup. Pennsylvania. If you'd like you could just send me your factory scales and I can get them done and then you can just send me the wood ones whenever. Even if it's weeks from now. I'll PM you my info. Thanks Falcon.

Oh, I don't need scales done. Perhaps you can do a GAW for another 'Head who needs it done? You should just be able to email me via the link in my profile, but I'll send you mine so you can edit your email out.

Oh holy crap, thanks falcon. I didn't read that before I e-mailed you back. I'll do a GAW then to make the karma complete.

Just a quick update. Granite shot me a PM that he had some wood for scales that he was willing send me, which simplifies things for me greatly. I was blown away to see what all he'd sent:

Some mahogany, sipo?, something else I'm not sure what it is, but may be more of the same, and a bunch of curly maple. I'm thinking the latter will complement the beautiful sheath that Psyop made for the BK2 in question, but Cryptyc, feel free to choose from among this, or let me know if there's something else you would prefer. Thanks again for the generosity, Granite. I'll be looking forward to passing it on.

Wow! I'm with you on thinking it will compliment the sheath! Granite is the man for doing that.

I still haven't received the scales from either gentlemen but will stipple them up as soon as I receive them!

So, crimsonfalcon.....that is Sipo, the bark edged wood is cherry (leftovers from my mudroom), and the other piece may be Sapele; I penciled it on the edge so you'd know. Also a little piece of black walnut....and that other wood ;). Enjoy.

Update:

I finish stjohn's scales and will be mailing them to him tomorrow on my lunch break. Enjoy sir.

Joe has been great about doing this for me. And he is going to teach me how to do my own.
Thanks again my man.

Robert St.John

You got it Robert! I e-mailed you some instructions but I may have to try and do a video so others can give it a shot. My wife got me and iPhone5s and it's camera is pretty darn good.
