Shore08,
That is a Case Mini Copperlock,a lockback. Those are smooth & tight & Case has alotta nice bone! That is emerald green,I think they call it
Thanks,
-Vince

Vince, that trapper is fantastic.

J , I bought that off Nifrand,it came outta Montana. I sold it to my friend here locally who likes Case knives. He never carried it so I traded with him,to get it back.

Like that Schatt:thumbup: Not seen one like it before, good trade.

That Mini Copperlock is actually Bermuda Green Pocket worn I think. Nice stuff got a Swayback and Slimline Trapper in it myself. The Emerald Green is more 'vivid' got a Wharncliffe Mini Trapper in that, it's smooth bone and rather lurid in colour..very.

Will,on the Schatt,again,purchased by me,traded it to obtain a custom knife,I later sold.It sat,un carried w/ a buddy & I traded for it,to get it back.
I is a special run by Clarence Risner,but what I like about it,is that it's like a moose,but with rounded bolsters.Two springs
I have a Queen, kinda like it,but that knife is a true single spring/catch bits, improved muskrat,a thinner more slender profile
So IMO,to me that Schatt is like a modified moose
Thanks,
-Vince

Thanks for that info Vince:thumbup:

A pattern like that ought to find more appreciation as it has a more practical application that a Muskrat and less hefty than a Moose. It looks really nice too, like some Pen-Knife that's been taking something:D

Not sure I would have traded that one!

Regards, W

Will,I just looked on Clarence Risners site & there are still knives like it,available. Its kinda quirky to navigate his site.Good to deal with.
I think you are correct about the green bone color name,on the Mini.

I'm currently awaiting arrival of a nib Case Bose Dogleg Jack and Yukon, as well as a Schatt & Morgan cigar whittler and a S&M file and wire Gunstock. Big trade for me! Can't wait to get these, it'll be my second Dogleg, but I carry my other one regular so this one will get oiled then tucked away. Looking forward to carrying everything else, just hope the Yukon isn't too big for daily use. If it is, I love the looks of it anyway, so win/win.

nice trades vince. what is it about knives and horse trading? i remember when i was young... a boy... my nieghbor and dad would sit at the kitchen table swaping things back and forth across the table. it seamed like the thing to do at the time. heady stuff for a scrauny kid.

Vince, good idea for a thread as 'horse tradin' has long been a part of knife collecting.
but, i've never even traded 1 knife, so i can't show any.

Just about every traditional knife I own are from trades. These are just a few:

Amherst Traditional Crown Jack: Sambar stag with D2 blade.

BM/NRA: Steigerwelt designed lock-back whittler with FRN handles, 440C main blade & AUS-8 modified spey blade.

Bulldog Sowbelly Stockman: '93 Gen. 3 with bone stag handles & carbon blades.

Case/Bose Dogleg Jack: Antique bone with ATS-34 blades.

David Steier #5 Interframe: Amber jigged bone with ATS-34 blade.

Joe Allen Eureka Jack: Stag with S30V Wharny & ATS-34 Pen blade.

Remington Lock-back: '90 in stagrin & 440.

Rick Menefee BackPocket Shadow: Green micarta & ATS-34 blade.

Schatt & Morgan Barlow: '09 BFC knife (Stag & D2).

Schrade mini-Stockman: From the '60s with delrin handle & carbon blades.

I might've forgotten some, but those are the ones I recall that I've traded for.
