Looking for a (side draw, cross draw) small fixed blade knife EDC. I ride backcountry trails and a pocket clip knife digs in to my leg and does not offer quick deployment in a sitting in the saddle.

I have looked at the Becker Necker, Rat Cutlery and others.

I'm partial to leather sheath. But not a deal killer.

Any ideas? Thank you Matt

Take a look in the Makers For Sale area, lots of great, affordable designs.

What type of chores are you expecting to use it for?
As a general purpose fixed blade, I can heartily recommend the BRKT Kephart.

Some of the horse people I know are careful to keep wire cutters handy when riding trails. You might consider a leatherman-type tool as well.

i like the ferhman thru hiker, consider an upper arm sheath with handle down. custom makers can make it to fit yourself. adjustable to wear on shirt sleeve or on coat sleeve.

Western shirts have a waddy placket. You can carry a folder horizontally between the 3rd and 4th button from the collar. Most clips can be adjusted to ensure a good grab. It helps to support the material with your left hand when inserting the knife with your right. Only one hand is needed to extract the folder.

Well yes arm or shirt could be handy or something along the lines of Gary's sheath that he did a tutorial on in the Sheaths & Such forum.

Go for the Rat cutlery/ESEE Izula. I ride, and I love to take this thing along in it's original sheath or its knives ship free sheath. All in all a great knife.
