I have a Horseman, which fits perfect in hand, and am contemplating getting the CQC-10 for its spear point. However, I am unable to find comparison pic of Horseman and CQC-10. Official site does not list the blade length for CQ-10 (it does for Horseman at 3.54"). The blade on both seems to be more or less the same though. Can someone post side-by-side pics of both in open and closed position? Thanks.

I don't have both knives, but the specs are as follows.

CQC-10
Blade Length: 3.625"
Overall Length: 8.5"
Closed: 4.875

Horseman
Blade Length: 3.5"
Overall Length: 8.5"
Closed: 5"

Answering my own question... on top is the CQC-10, bottom the Horseman. Because the overall width of CQC-10 is more, it feels bigger in hand than the Horseman which has a slimmer profile.

How are you liking the 10?

It is a little bigger but I find it is just about as comfortable, although a little different in hand. I still have my 10 and traded my Horseman away. If it was one of the newer models (with a proper wave) I probably would not have. Both great knives.

Exactly my thoughts - both are equally comfortable. :) Liking both of them.

Those are great pictures, I can see that easily. Thanks for the information!

Thanks, just keep in mind angles are everything in photography, and can be misleading. Here's the same "early" Horseman from a different angle that tends to minimize the "wave evolution".

Is there quite a difference in function between the older model and the newer version?

I think the newer wave "waves" easier, and FWIW I do like the newer appearance better too. The Horseman used to be considered one of the least easy to wave, but this IMHO fixes that.

I wasn't even aware of the changes. Ya learn something new every day. So far I think all the Emerson's I've owned have had the newer wave.
