Horseman and CQC8 size comparison.

Hi folks.

I used to own a Horseman but sold it to buy an ESEE Junglas. I am looking into getting another Horseman but was curious on the size difference between it and it's bigger brother. I have smaller hands so I was worried that the 8 would be too big.

I tried looking on this forum but it seems to go to only 2 pages long? So I cannot browse back any further than a couple of months. Can anyone who has handled the two blades chime in? If anyone has both in their possession, a side by side or one on top picture would be great.

You can search the subforum, or look aat the sticky'd thread at the top which contains many photos. I have a Super 8 and a couple Horseman models. If you used a Junglas, I doubt you would be bothered by the mid sized 8.
 
if it helps the cqc 8 is about the size of a spyderco military and the horseman is about the size of a para 2, of course it's not exact but its close.
 
i've got a horseman that will be here a few more days that i can post a pic up for you, but don't have the cqc8 full size, gotta go to work but when i get home ill throw you some pics up of it compared to a spyderco military , and ill go through the drawer and see what 4 inch folders i have if it will help yu , i work nights so it's prolly gonna be 3 a.m. or later if not tomorrow
 
Thanks for all the replies.. What would really help are photos of the two knives side by side, one on top of the other etc. I have smaller hands so I was worried that the 8 might be too big but looking at the specs, the entire knife is only about an inch longer than the Horseman, with half of that going to the handle.
 
Pics you say? Wish I still had these. How did the mini 8 feel in your hand? I wouldn't consider my hands to be big but the full sized 8 definitely felt better in my hand. I'll be getting a plain edge 8 at some point to replace these for sure.

Thanks! These actually are really helpful! The 8 doesn't look too big compared to the Horseman. My hands aren't too big either so I think I won't mind the extra half-inch on the handle. How big are your hands, would you say? Sorry if its a weird question but thanks for the pics!

Sorry, forgot about this thread. I'll put it to you this way, the mini was comfortable but just left my index finger feeling slightly cramped and the 8 didn't. So if your hand is at all cramped with the mini I'd say go for the 8.
 
I personally find the 8 big, and the Horseman a little too small!
The size difference doesn't look much on paper but it is pretty obvious in the flesh and it is quite significant.

If you're hands are medium-large you will love the 8.
