Horseman vs. Mini Roadhouse?

Guys,

As I have previously stated, I have to put spending on Emersons on ice for a little while (and enjoy my existing, growing collection).

I really enjoy each of them and whilst I am really drawn to the standard size knives. The Commander was my first Emerson and I only have the Roadhouse in this similar size. I am absolutely loving my Roadhouse! That said, I enjoy carrying the smaller versions like my Mini Comm and CQC 7's so I was thinking (purely theoretically at this point) about the Mini Roadhouse but I feel like I would be remiss in not considering the Horseman/CQC 8 platform.

As before, I would welcome your thoughts and experiences of either the Horseman & Mini Roadhouse - but please know that I won't be able to buy either for a little while...

With the grips of the 8/horseman being so similar to the roadhouse I would maybe try a 15.

I know that wasn't your question and I didn't help a bit. LOL, you can't go wrong either way. They are all great.
 
You already have a Roadie and the CQC-8 platform is an iconic Emerson design and every fan should try one out. You should get the Horseman
 
I planned on buying a mini Roadhouse, but because of availability ended up buying a Horseman. I really like it! Give the Horseman a try, I don't think you'll regret it.
 
Thanks for such fast responses guys - I hear you re. the Horseman. It is high on my list and I will potentially end up with both at some point. Just really interested in your thoughts/ experiences.

No problem Ben. I just know the grip of the horseman didn't do it for me but love the commander and like the 7 and I have my eye on the 15.

Best of luck with whatever you pick, at least it will be an Emerson!
 
I have both. I prefer the Mini Roadhouse handle to the Horsemans but I prefer the Horsemans blade to the Mini Roadhouse blade.

Which is why a production version of the Combat Systems Fighter (and a mini version) would be awesome! An 8 blade in a Roadhouse handle, what's not to love?

OP, my answer is almost always Roadhouse, but since you have a standard one, try the Horseman.
