Hey Decaf Dave,

Who did you give my Rubber Bucky too and did you get any feed back on how they liked the stuff as handle material?

Just in case you forgot what it looks like:

Yea, I knew you were probably busy...just poking at you mostly.

Well I was being serious about wondering about the knife. To bad we didn't get any feedback. I may be feeling rubbery myself. Its starting to cool off and that always feels like shop weather. :)

I guess I'm gonna hit the hay. Big Day on the FTFOP.

I transferred several Bucks (3 rubber Bucky's I think) to the 25th ID when they were coming into the box as I was leaving.

That way, they would get the most use. Maybe on the bad side I made a point to give them to the most junior guys I could find since I thought they were least likely to have a good knife. That means odds are low that we'll hear from them sadly.

The few days I had them and checked them out I liked them for what that's worth. Was tough for me to give them all up but I knew they needed them more than I did at that time.

Since I know the privates/specialists life in the military I know we won't likely hear. If Steve had been around longer they would have verbally given feedback in passing I'm sure as that's how young guys are mostly.

It was still a fine program to be involved in. I should do up a couple more. I bought some anniversary tin 110's for a great price and Mike Wallace gave me enough horsemat for a couple more knives or three.

What do you think Dave, do we work up another shipment?

Steve thanks for what you did...do you have another good contact over therr that would make a willing cordinator?

i know many in service feel it is a job but
i know it is nice to know some back one home cares..
why heallllll yes!
i am going to see if i can order any more grips from buck ..
{( i was not able to work the horse mat as well as i wanted to.)}
if i can ..will put alpha grips on any 110 sent to me for free for GI's
some one sends 3 or 4 i will send them back with one for them selves..

yes let us know if you know some one that would be good for this ..
folks a warrior's knife dont have to be a 110
or even a Buck ... these guys are out in the real nomad land
and it is not like you can jest drop in a store and get one

if this gets off the ground again i would like to get a sticky
about knives for warriors ...

ok have called buck and they have some grips
they are checking on getting me a better price on 10 at once

Just emailed my replacement to make sure he's good with doing the distribution on his end. Should have an answer back before long with his address.

I know it really lit up many of the young guys I was able to give them to while I was there. They are in the worse of it now and I hope they are serving them well.

To me, every young man over there on the front line or just driving up a road that puts his life on the line every day is a Hero. I like the idea of "BUCKS FOR HEROS"

ok i have an order for 10 sets of the alpha grips in and will be here in a week
i have a buck or two hanging around that needs some action !!
would some one who is good with words
put in a thread what we are looking to do here
for our warriors..
and we will see if it can be a sticky for a while..

steve give him the link to the forum here..
and feel free to give him my email ...
if you can, (time, duity and such allowing) could you act as collector
to send these to them?

I would be fine being the central collection point here. However, could keep costs down if there were shipped straight to him. I'm easy though, either way works for me.
