I know this isn't sheaths, but I was wondering if I could get some pictures of your horseshoe coasters from the bottom side? I've planning on making some and think they are pretty straightforward but would like confirmation.
Do you just nail the horseshoes in place then attach another layer of leather under that?

Yes. We use Gorilla Glue clear glue. It doesn't foam like some of the others:

So for sewing it. Are the nails just appearance or do you have them through the top layer then sew the bottom on and then put the horshoe on?

No the nails are driven through the shoes and trimmed and peened. The leather is sewn separately and edged and then glued to the shoe.

Horsewright Horsewright What finish are y’all using on these? I saw the post with y’all putting the 6 coats on but the bottle was turned where I couldn’t see what it was. Thank you. And beautiful work too!
