I'm back from a camping trip. My brother-in-law, really nice guy, brought corn on the cob and steak kabobs. As soon as he put them on the fire, he realized he had no way to get them off. Horton Chopper to the rescue. I found a 1.25-1.5" thick piece of wood, chopped it to size, and batoned it, cut a wedge for the tongs, and cut the jute for the tension/handle wrap. In a little less then 3 minutes I built tongs with the Horton Chopper. The best part was I used the Chopper's bottle opener to open my wife's beer while making the tongs.:D

Nice save, and nice saving piece:D On top of putting out some super smooth knives, Jeremy is a helluva nice guy, too:thumbup:

I'm glad i could help........ i put that bottle opener on there for just such emergencies, dont remember, making actual Lightsabers,, lol,,,,,,,, nice pic...

sweet Blade!!!!

That's awesome! Impromptu Magic!

My young nephews were there and one of them said "Uncle Brian is a genius".:D I learned a lot of my "Magic" from you guys, thanks.

I also tried my first self feeding fire. It seems counterintuitive, but it works. You start with the big wood on the bottom and work up to smaller wood at the top. You alternate layers, kind of like a log cabin, but you fill in the middle. It burned for hours without ever touching it.

Carbon Fiber would have been the way to go with the handle---not plastic.
