This one has taken me awhile and is my single-longest outstanding order. It is based off an old "HOS" design and is the 2nd or 3rd (I can't remember) attempt at this blade. I wanted to get it right and give the man a cool hamon since he's been waiting so long for his blade. :D This is forged out of W-2 and is about 1/4 inches thick -- he wanted something to clear brush, and I think it'll do the job. ;)

The hamon is one of my favorites -- one side is sorta "bubbly" and the other is more "normal" with a lot of utsuri. It is 19 1/2 inches overall with 11 inches of brush-cuttin' edge. It is big enough that it didn't quite fit in my little light box (as you can probably tell. :D )

Thanks for checking it out --

Cool. Looks like you got a bunch of hardening under the clay on that first side. Oh well, no detriment to performance.

Michael, I like that one--it should make short work of most any task given. my very first forged blade has a somewhat similar "hamon" and when asked how i got it i just tell the truth "just lucky i guess" i will look at the pic i have and if it show, i will post it.
(off subject)--hows things in the ozarks-lived in spgfld 1991-98. daughter/her husband and two the 2 grand-kids live there still.

There is no better place to live. :)

It handles as good as it looks :)
I didn't have a chance to give it a real workout yet, but she bites deep into dead tree limbs alright.
