I would like to perform a quick lube by applying the grease in the correct locations and then melt it in with a heat gun or hair dryer. Any chance it would work it's way into the washers and friction areas?

That is probably correct but I've yet to take mine apart after 3 years. I usually run into the original seller at a gun show and he has done it for me. I guess it's time to man-up and do it myself.

I also think you would be better off taking it apart. The approach you suggest is likely to transport abrasive media into undesirable places.

I think it would be a good idea to just take it apart yourself. Since it is your knife, I feel that you should know how to "service" it if you will.

Good luck and follow the sticky at the top of the CRK page on the forums. It gives you step by step instructions.

Is it not smooth, taking it apart is the lasts option,i never take me knives apart unless a have to case.........
